Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-01

These terms govern your use of this website and the electrical contracting services provided by Toronto Electrical Contractor. By using the site or accepting a quote, you agree to these terms.

Estimates and Quotes

Estimates are free for residential projects across the GTA. Estimates are based on scope as described or observed at the time of quoting. Material price changes, additional scope discovered during work (concealed knob-and-tube, lost neutrals, undocumented prior work), and code-required upgrades may affect final cost — these are quoted in writing before any additional work proceeds. Written quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

ESA Permits and Inspections

All electrical work performed by Toronto Electrical Contractor that requires a permit under the Ontario Electrical Safety Code is filed under our Licensed Electrical Contractor (LEC) number with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA). The cost of permits and inspections is included in flat-rate quotes unless explicitly itemized otherwise. We do not encourage homeowner-pulled permits — doing so transfers liability to the homeowner.

Pricing

  • EV charger installation: $800–$1,500 (typical Level 2)
  • 100A→200A panel upgrade: $1,800–$3,500
  • Knob-and-tube whole-home rewire: $8,000–$15,000
  • Electrical safety inspection: $250–$450
  • Ceiling fan installation: $150–$300
  • After-hours emergency dispatch: $150 + labour

Final pricing is fixed in the written quote before work begins.

Payment Terms

Residential projects: 50% deposit on scheduling, balance on substantial completion (before ESA final inspection where applicable). Commercial projects: net-30 with credit approval. Accepted payment: Cash, Credit Card, Debit, E-Transfer.

Workmanship Warranty

Workmanship is backed by a satisfaction guarantee. Installed equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty (typically 1–10 years). The ESA Certificate of Acceptance and our installation records are the strongest documentation for resale or insurance — keep both.

Customer Responsibilities

You agree to provide safe access to the work area, disclose known conditions (existing knob-and-tube, aluminum wiring, prior unpermitted work, water damage near electrical), and respond promptly to scheduling and ESA inspection requests. We will not knowingly perform work that violates the Ontario Electrical Safety Code; if site conditions force a code-required scope change, we will document it in writing before proceeding.

Limitation of Liability

Toronto Electrical Contractor carries $5M general liability insurance and WSIB coverage on all technicians. Our liability for any defective workmanship is limited to the cost of correcting that workmanship. We are not liable for pre-existing concealed conditions discovered during our work, except to disclose them and provide a written remediation quote.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Residential project cancellations more than 48 hours before the scheduled start incur no fee. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a fee equivalent to the dispatch and prep cost. ESA permits already filed under your job will be cancelled or transferred at our discretion.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
